What are the main materials that make up color steel composite panels and what are their advantages?Hello world!

Color-coated steel composite panels are sandwich panels made with rock wool as the core and color-coated steel sheets laminated on both sides. They fully utilize the advantages of rock wool, such as fire resistance, water resistance, thermal insulation, and sound absorption. Furthermore, their improved production process eliminates the old on-site lamination method, replacing it with a one-time lamination process in the factory. This achieves high quality, efficiency, reliability, and safety while meeting the requirements for building insulation, sound insulation, and fire resistance. Due to their various excellent properties, color-coated steel composite panels are widely used.

Below, we will introduce the main materials and advantages of color steel composite panels.

I. Main Materials of Color Steel Composite Panels

  1. Introduction to various surface/base materials (including color-coated plates, galvanized plates, stainless steel plates, aluminum foil, PVC, plywood, etc.)

(1) Color-coated plates: The base material is hot-dip galvanized or aluminized zinc plate, and electro-galvanized base material is also used. The surface paint does not peel off after bending. Color steel plates used for composite panels are generally coated and baked once (two coatings and one baking). Plates coated and baked twice (two coatings and two baking) or with quality problems such as severe loose edges, loose center, missed coating, large serrated edges, severe ellipticity, unevenness, etc., cannot be used to produce composite panels.

(2) Galvanized plates: Poor bonding effect is sometimes difficult to handle and requires treatment.

(3) Stainless steel plates: Good corrosion resistance, high toughness and difficult to process; poor bonding effect is sometimes required. (4) Aluminum Foil Paper: Reinforced aluminum foil is a composite material with glass fiber reinforcement sandwiched between aluminum foil and kraft paper. It has flame-retardant and fireproof properties, and is also aesthetically pleasing, durable, and an ideal matching insulation layer for a new generation of thermal insulation, heat insulation, and sound insulation.

(5) PVC: The main raw material of PVC foam board is polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Its characteristics include a smooth and beautiful surface, light weight, flame retardancy, moisture resistance, sound insulation, corrosion resistance, easy cutting, good weather resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and easy cleaning.

(6) Plywood: Due to the limited length of each sheet, plywood does not achieve a very good compact effect, and cracking is difficult to solve.

  1. Introduction to various core materials (including EPS, rock wool, glass wool, flame-retardant paper honeycomb board, polyurethane, etc.)

(1) Foam Board: Made from expandable polystyrene (EPS) granules, resembling fertilizer granules, it is pre-foamed by heating to form larger, pearl-like granules, which are then heated and pressed into molds to create a foam plastic board with a micro-closed-cell structure.

(2) Polyurethane: High energy-saving performance. A material with excellent fireproof and heat-insulating properties. The density of polyurethane used for composite boards is generally 30-40 kg.

(3) Rock Wool Board: Made primarily from basalt, which is melted at high temperatures and then processed into inorganic fibers by high-speed centrifugal equipment. A certain proportion of adhesive is added evenly, and the mixture is baked into large boards. These boards are then cut into rock wool strips according to production needs. Rock wool is a non-combustible material with good fire resistance. (4) Glass wool: A lightweight, heat-resistant, elastic, and non-flammable insulation material widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, factory, heavy industrial machinery and equipment, construction, vehicles, ships, and aerospace industries. It is an ideal material for heat insulation, fireproofing, and sound absorption.

(5) Flame-retardant paper honeycomb board: A national B1-level fireproof material with advantages such as good flame retardancy, good compressive strength, carbonization without combustion, no toxic substances produced, and complete recycling of waste. It is an ideal substitute for core materials such as polystyrene, polyurethane, and rock wool.

II. What are the advantages of color steel composite panels?

  1. Lightweight: Approximately 10kg~14kg/m², equivalent to 1/30th the weight of a brick wall.
  2. Excellent heat insulation, heat absorption, and sealing performance.
  3. Convenient construction and flexible, quick installation, reducing construction time by more than 40%.
  4. Bright colors and beautiful appearance, requiring no further surface decoration. 5. High strength, can be used as maintenance structure and load-bearing structure, resistant to bending and compression, and generally does not require beams and columns in houses.
